About 8% of the world population has some kind of visual impairment.
Within accessibility, colour is perhaps one of the easiest to address and yet one of the most neglected. The main reason is that the choice of colors is often restricted to an aesthetic decision of the visual designer.
Of course, that gray text on a slightly lighter gray background looks elegant, but an ordinary computer monitor will not be able to reproduce the nuances of brightness and contrast. And even on the display of a brand new smartwatch can be hard to see on a sunny day. The resolution, font size and icons and even the context of use can affect the perception of colors and accessibility of content.
You must have realized by now that our panel is all black and white, right?
